How to Download Your Turnitin Similarity Report
Want your Turnitin similarity report as a PDF to review offline (or bring to an advisor)? The download button hides in plain sight — and whether you see it at all depends on how your instructor configured the assignment. Here's where it is and what to do if it's missing.
Where the download button lives
- Open the Feedback Studio — from your submission page, click the similarity percentage (the colored badge).
- Look at the layers / tools panel (right side or top depending on layout).
- Download options appear as an icon (arrow into tray): choose Current View (what you see, with filters applied) or Digital Receipt.
- Save as PDF — browsers print the report view to PDF if the direct download gives an HTML file.
Visibility is instructor-controlled. If student downloads are disabled for the assignment, no button will appear — ask your instructor or TA to enable it or email you the report.
No access? The private alternative
If you can't get the report (or want a read before submitting to the official one), run your text through an independent detector: ours scores 0-100 with per-line flags, requires no login, and stores nothing — there's no repository entry and no trace in any university system. Free detector here.
Reading the PDF once you have it
Classify every match: cited quotes and bibliography = cosmetic; standard prompts and definitions = often excluded; uncited paraphrase = the real issue. The full method is in similarity vs plagiarism. For the color bands on the report, see the color chart; for the numeric side, what a good score is.
